Cristiano Ronaldo’s Biggest Threat Next Season

There is no denying that the sudden transfer of Erling Braut Haaland from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City has racked some nerves on English Premier League demigods such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohammed Salah, Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku, Hueng Min Son… you name it. The race for the Golden Boot is going to be even stiffer with the arrival of the 21 year old, the same way it has this season with the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United.

Ronaldo has by a mile been the best play at Old Trafford this season and his impressive goal scoring record illustrates so. Infact, football analysts believe that he would have been in a better position to clinch the golden boot if he had started the first three Manchester United games.

Of course Haaland has made it no secret to the media that he idolizes Cristiano Ronaldo and it would be a great privilege to go toe to toe with him in the top scorers list. Ronaldo on the other hand has shown that he is up for the challenge as he recently mentioned to his teammates that he will be at the club next season if Ten Hag allows him to stay. He believes that Ten Hag has the capacity to turn things around for the club next season.

Ronaldo is now no longer worried about Mohammed Salah because currently there is an element of uncertainty about his future at Liverpool. Such situations drain players’ concentration and eventually their performance. Haaland also had that experience this season during the latter phase of this season and that is why he racked up fewer goals in his recent matches.

The Manchester rivalry has now taken a new dimension because not only will either clubs be fighting for the EPL title next season, they will also be fighting to clarify whether the new generation is taking over, or the older players are still dominating the worldwide sport.
