Ichungwa And Ole Kina Reveal Why They Didn't Watch Safari Rally Over The Weekend.

The just concluded Safari Rally event that took place in Naivasha has been trending for the better part of last week.

The event was first flagged off by president Uhuru Kenyatta at KICC and he himself was at hand to witness the climax on Sunday.

The event saw the Frenchman Sebastian Ogier taking the coveted award having emerged the best.

The president at the same time announced good news to the lovers of the event when he announced that the event will be held annually until 2026.

A number of notable leaders too attended the event including Homabay women representative Gladys Wanga. However, some didn't make it due to various reasons.

Speaking to citizen TV today morning, Kikuyu member of Parliament Kimani Ichungwa said that he couldn't just go to Naivasha to watch cars racing.

He however was quick to add that the rally event is good for tourism and global Positioning of the country.

He continued to say that the fact that the president was there doesn't mean that everybody follows him.

"Safari rally is good for global positioning & tourism, just because the president is somewhere does not mean you drop other things & line up behind him.

Being patriotic does not mean supporting the president, it means supporting the country". He said.

On his side, Narok senator Ledama Olekina dismissed the event as a super spreader of Covid-19 pandemic hence couldn't attend or even follow it.

"I was not in Naivasha neither did I follow proceedings. COVID-19 is real & the rally was a super spreader event. I enjoyed spending time with my constituents. Kenya & Kenyans have more things to worry about" he said

Nevertheless, CAS Beatrice Alachi was of the opinion that the event really excited Kenyans thanking the ministry of sports for bringing the event back after many Years.

"Kenyans were excited about the safari rally event. Govt. will put measures for Kenyans but will not punish Kenyans when they choose to do otherwise, every Kenyan should be responsible.

We thank Ministry of sports & Govt. for bringing safari rally back" she told citizen TV daybreak n Monday.
