Arsenal have yet again lost one of the most promising defensive midfielders to AS Roma. Denis Zakaria is in advanced negotiations with the Italian juggernauts and it is believed that he has already made a verbal agreement with AS Roma representatives over a potential transfer move.
Zakaria had been linked with a move to Arsenal a few weeks ago pre-Lokonga’s signing after the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder admitted to his agent that he wants to join Arsenal before the transfer deadline. The rumors however died down after Lokonga was signed and Granit Xhaka penned a new contract. Mourinho recently said that Zakaria will take the spot that was reserved for Xhaka because he believes Zakaria is Xhaka’s equivalent.
According to reliable sources, Arsenal’s wantaway midfielder Lucas Torreira is bound to join Fiorentina in the next coming days after it was revealed that Arsenal had received a loan offer from the Italian club. Torreira has been interested in joining the Italian Serie for quite some time now and therefore is open to joining Fiorentina.
Arsenal are currently running through the proposals laid out by Fiorentina before giving the green light for the transfer move. It is reported that Fiorentina are willing to pay €1.5 Million as a loan fee and then later cash out €15 Million as the player’s transfer fee after his loan spell expires. Arsenal representatives are however not optimistic about the transfer because the club had valued Torreira at €25 Million yet Fiorentina is offering a transfer fee which is €10 Million short of the valuation fee.
Mikel Arteta is yet again facing the music from the fans who are voicing out their concerns over Arsenal’s disappointing match results. They have been mounting pressure on the Spaniard who has been struggling a lot at the start of this season’s campaign, with 9 players being ruled out for various unavoidable reasons. It looks likely that his job will be snatched away from him very soon, but the club’s board seem to be generous enough with their patience. But for how long will they keep up with Arteta’s failures?
