Benjamin Ayimba has been at a Nairobi hospital where he has been undergoing treatment for cerebral malaria and breathed his last on Friday evening.
Kenyans took to social media to mourn his death, particularly by remembering his great achievements while working with the rugby team.
He will be remembered for propelling Kenya Sevens to its first-ever World Rugby Sevens Series Main Cup title in 2016 at the Singapore 7.
