Portugal is set to face the Atlas Lions of Morocco today in the second phase of the world cup quarterfinals. Santos will have a hard time picking his central striker following Goncalo Ramos's exceptional performances as well as the speculations surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo.
In their recent match, Portugal's boss Fernando Santos benched Cristiano Ronaldo giving chance to the twenty-one-year-old Benfica striker, Goncalo Ramos. Rumors later broke out that Ronaldo was not impressed and had threatened to leave Qatar.
However, the Portuguese FA stepped forward to clear the air. After a long silence since the explosive interview with Piers Morgan, Erik Ten-Hag has revealed the conversation he had with Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.
According to Ten-hag, Ronaldo had told him that he will rethink his future at Old Trafford in a span of six days. As per the United's tactician, the Portuguese talisman later came back and told him he wanted to stay.
