Some football rules are common to almost everybody and we know them. But below are some football rules that may seem strange to some of us:
1. A Goal Kick Must Leave The 18-Yard Box.
If the goalkeeper's kick doesn't leave the 18 yard box, the kick is retaken. This happened in QPR vs Manchester City where Joe Hart mis-hit the kick and Charlie Austin scored. The goal was disallowed and the kick was retaken.
2. It Is Not Allowed To Touch The Ball Again On A Penalty Kick.
If a penalty taker hits the bar, the ball comes back think and he scores again, the goal is not awarded.
3. In Case Of Two Fouls, The Serious One Is Sanctioned.
For example if a player grabs the jersey of the opponent and tackles him in the face at the same time, the tackle on the face is sanctioned.
4. Both Teams Must Have Equal Players In The Shoot Out.
If a player is sent off with a red card and the game goes in extra time with tied results, then the other team will have to to agree to cut off one of their players so that the teams balance.
5. The Yellow Card On Illegal Celebration Is Not Cancelled Even If The Goal Is Cancelled.
In case of illegal celebration eg removing the shirt or jumping into the crowd, the player remains booked even if the goal is cancelled because the impact is the same if the goal is awarded.
6. Players Can Make A Decisive Pass On A Penalty Kick.
It is possible for a penalty taker to pass the ball to a teammate the way Lionel Messi and Luiz Suarez did in 2016 against Celta Vigo.
Which of the above rules sounds strange to you? Comment and FOLLOW for more football updates.
