Without doubt one of the greatest football duo of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have won nearly everything there is to win in the game. They have been integral to the successes of their clubs, something that is reflected in the fact that they have scooped eleven Ballon d'Or trophies.
Nevertheless, in this article we will give you five trophies and awards the Argentine has won that Ronaldo has never.
1. FIFA World Cup Golden Ball.
Winning a World Cup Golden Ball would always be a great achievement to any footballer's career. It is an award presented to the FIFA World Cup tournament's best player.
Lionel Messi was awarded the Golden Ball for the best player of the tournament at the 2014 summer's World Cup after guiding his country to the final, scoring a total of four goals.

2. Summer Olympics.
Olympics is a tournament that involve many athletes from different disciplines and most footballers participate in it once in their lives.
Lionel Messi won one of his most cherished prize, Olympic gold medal at Beijing 2008 games. It was his first success with Argentina after they defeated Nigeria 1-0 in the final.
3. FIFA U-20 World Cup.

In 2005, Lionel Messi scored two goals for Argentina as they edged past Nigeria to win the FIFA U-20 World Cup. He also received the Golden Ball and Golden Boot award.
4. Laureus World Sportsman of the Year.
In 2020, the six times ballon d'or winner and Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton were named joint winners of the World Sportsman of the Year.

5. Other Senior International Golden Ball Awards.
Apart from the 2014 FIFA World Cup golden ball award, Lionel Messi has two other player of the tournament award to his name; the Copa America Golden Ball in 2015 and 2021. Meanwhile, Cristiano Rinaldo has never won the player of the tournament award in his career.
