Liverpool returned to Premier League action this afternoon when they took on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
The Reds were 12 points behind league leaders Manchester City, although Jurgen Klopp’s side had two games in hand.
In first half Palace defended far too narrow, their back four allowed a ton of space on the outside for Alexander-Arnold and Robertson. Predictably, the delivery from these two was excellent, and soon Liverpool were two up. Having looked in control, the visitors suddenly stuck it in neutral, and nearly gifted Palace goals by giving the ball away, twice. Liverpool won 0-2 by first half.
In 56th minutes Schlump played it forward from excellent defence splitting ball. Mateta received it, carried it forward, he got Edouard running alongside him but he unselfishly opted to lat it off, Edouard couldn't miss it and goal stand was 1-2.
Jota had lost control of the ball, and ran into the Liverpool keeper. After a long, annoying delay, the pen was given. And the reliable Fabinho tucks it away and goal stand was 1-3.
