Man Utd: Solskjaer's Terrible Record, Marchisio Defends Ronaldo, West Ham's Win

Dreadful Loss

Manchester United were disappointingly knocked out of the Carabao Cup after suffering a 1-0 loss to West Ham United who were seeking vengeance for the weekend’s loss. An early goal by Manuel Lanzini proved to be the difference in both halves of the match as Manchester United made 25 attempts at goal but to no avail.

Many fans blamed the lack of clinical finishing on Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial who missed a lot of chances in the first half. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s frustrations showed when he brought in Bruno Fernandes who contributed less to nothing in the game in the second half. West Ham have now progressed into the round of 16 of the competition and will face defending champions Manchester City.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Following yesterday’s shocking defeat to West Ham United, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has now missed out on 18 cups in which he has been involved ever since he took over the club in 2018. This record has painted a bad picture to his reputation as a World-class coach and calls for his sacking have already caught the ear of the Manchester United board.

In his defense, he had this to say,” Today’s match was a tough one because we created many chances but we’re unfortunate not find the back of the net. We were the better team in the match in almost all aspects of the game. I am disappointed that we have to bow out of the competition, but I hope the fans will rally behind us in the matches to come.”

Claudio Marchisio

Former Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio recently defended Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to leave Manchester United after he said that Juventus had not built the right team for him. This follows after Juventus fans doubted Ronaldo’s loyalty to the club claiming that the Portuguese striker left the club because they did not win a trophy last season. Marchisio said that Ronaldo would have stayed if a more ambitious squad was assembled for him at Juventus.
