Opinion: Three New Leaders Have Emerged In Chelsea Dressing Room After John Terry's Exit

Chelsea have found themselves three new leaders in a youthful Stamford bridge dressing room after centre-back John Terry left the club and took his wealth of experience with him.

Thomas Tuchel has unearthed three new leaders at Chelsea after John Terry's departure left a void of experience in the Stamford bridge dressing room.

Despite his inconsistent form on the pitch, Terry was a senior figure in north London and his knowledge of the top of the game will have been invaluable to the blue's youthful squad.

And with the club's summer business only pushing the average age of the group downwards, Chelsea were the subject of criticism for their perceived lack of leaders during a torrid start of the term. But those assumptions could soon be rendered premature.

According to The Athletic, goalkeeper Edouard Mendy , new signing Romelu Lukaku and centre-back partner Mason Mount have all stepped up to became important figures. Chelsea have three new leaders in the Stamford bridge dressing room.

Although Edouard Mendy was signed during the final days of the summer transfer window, the 23-year-old quickly displaced Kante as No.1 and his bubbly personality is said to be rubbing off on those around him.

Meanwhile, fellow new arrival Lukaku has surprised his coaches with his leadership qualities has found his feet and taken on responsibility after a somewhat shaky first season.
