Just a few days ago, world marathon holder Eliud Kipchoge jetted out of the country in a classic way. He flew out of the country in style and accompanied by other athletes from his region.
They left Eldoret using a chattered jet that took off from the International Airport. Eliud was in the company of other established athletes like Brigid Koskei and are set to represent the country in the forthcoming London Marathon.
Today he decided to tell the world what he will be using to win the marathon. He displayed his magnificent shoes that he will be gracing the race with. According to reports on NTV today, the white sport shoes have an exciting representation of our country's heritage.
It has stripes of our national flag printed nicely at the hind of each side. It is not all the colours of the flag but just the green and red colour. His initials have also been neatly printed on it. Another amazing feature is the 1:59:40 that has also been printed on it. This is the time the athlete took to complete the solo marathon in Vienna last year.
The shoes look very comfy and he seems to be very ready to take the world by surprise after several months of intense training here at home. He will surely do us proud and we as Kenyans are sure that he together with the other athletes he left with, will not disappoint.
We shall keep you updated on all that goes down on that other side of the world but be rest assured, they are coming back home with lots of awards.
