Manchester United Defender Who Silenced Philippe Coutinho in Yesterday's Match

Manchester United failed to win their fourth consecutive pre-season match after they had a goalless draw with Aston Villa on Saturday. The Red Devils have been performing well this summer after appointing Erik ten Hag as the new coach.

The side has been playing attractive football unlike last season and they keep getting better in every match they are playing. United failed to beat Steven Gerrard's side for a second consecutive meeting this year.

They had a 2-2 draw in their 2021/22 English Premier League season match this year. They also failed to get a win in their pre-season game where they also had a 2-2 draw.

The Red Devils took the lead in the first half yesterday with goals from Jadon Sancho and Matty Cash's own goal giving Erik ten Hag's side the lead. However, Aston Villa made an unexpected comeback in the second half to end the match on a draw.

Both managers had started a strong squad in the match but Erik ten Hag dominated the first half while Steven Gerrard looked better in the second half.

Moreover, Brazilian forward Philippe Coutinho struggled to create chances or get a goal for his team yesterday. He has been one of the main players for Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa but couldn't beat United's defense.

Coutinho struggled against Diogo Dalot who was impressive in the match, especially in the first half. The Portuguese international was remarkable yesterday and the 30-year-old Brazilian forward had a difficult time against him.

Dalot has been one of the finest players under Erik Ten Hag at Old Trafford and he seems he can't stop performing. He has been good in the right-back position and he could continue starting there even next season.
