This season, Manchester United's defence has been their undoing. Conceding 56 goals in the league is extremely disappointing for a club like Manchester United, who consider themselves to be Premier League giants.
Ten Hag will almost certainly sign at least one defender this summer, but who will it be?
Manchester United have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sign Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Sport Witness.
According to Sport Witness, Koulibaly's agent, Fali Ramadani, has approached Manchester United about bringing the 30-year-old to Old Trafford. Sport Witness Reveal:
"The agent’s hope in all this is that some teams ‘will be able to offer around €35m’, which would see them ‘approaching the requests of Aurelio De Laurentiis’, who is aware his star’s contract in Naples expires in 2023."
Was it a mistake for United to sign Maguire over Koulibaly in 2019? Maguire has been chastised for his poor form for the majority of the season. I don't know about you, but if signed, Koulibaly and Varane could form the best defensive duo the Premier League has ever seen. (Sports Witness)
