N'golo Kante was born on 29th March 1991 in Paris, France, to relatively unknown parents from a lower-class background. His parents emigrated from Mali in 1980 in search of greener pastures. His father died while he was young, left his mother and him suffering from the parenting burden to care for his other three siblings.

Growing up in Rueil Malmaison, Paris, Kante worked as a garbage collector while his mother worked as a cleaner to sustain the family needs. He walked miles across Paris in search of valuable wastes to deliver to the recycling firms.

During the 1998 World Cup, Kante prospered financially. Making more collections, arising from fans all over the globe in support of their respective teams. He also saw an opportunity in France, a country whose football glory and future laid on the shoulders of emigrants.
Some of the notable emigrant stars who helped France clinch the FIFA World Cup included Thierry Henry, Zinedine Zidane, Patrick Viera, Lilian Thuram, and Nicolas Anelka. After the 1998 World Cup glory, he was aspired to take football as a career at the age of eight and joined JS Suresnes in western parts of Paris.
