Signing an attacker in January is one of Ten Hag's almost certain moves to succeed this season. Manchester United's struggling attacking performances this season, combined with Cristiano Ronaldo's departure, justify the club spending millions to improve their attack.
Several attackers have been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but it now appears that Memphis Depay is the man set to join Ten Hag's project. The Dutch forward is currently struggling at Barcelona; injuries as well as Xavi's unwillingness to use him have led to his flop at the La Liga club. He was close to joining Juventus this summer, but the deal fell through.
According to reports, he is interested in agreeing to terminate his contract with Barcelona in order to join a club of his choice in January. Manchester United want to be his club of choice in January and are currently in talks with his entourage to bring him back to Old Trafford, according to Caught Offside. Florian Plattenbarg says, "(Depay) He is also on the list of Manchester United. We‘ve been told that Ten Hag can really imagine bringing him back. There is contact between all parties. Barca would even terminate the contract, desperately wants to save the salary."
Do you think Depay could finally get to his best in a Manchester United shirt?
