Tonight's Top Notch Selections to Bank on

Uruguay entertain on Ecuador in World Cup 2022 qualifying on Thursday and I’m expecting a win for the hosts in this match-up.

La Celestes are missing some big names for these latest fixtures. There is no Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani, Darwin Nunez or Sebastian Coates in this Uruguay squad but they still have plenty of talent within their ranks and managed a 4-2 win over Bolivia last time out.

Ecuador sit in third in CONMEBOL qualifying, one points above Uruguay immediately below them, but their success thus far is due to their strong home form. La Tri have one win and two defeats from three away qualifiers, and have just two wins in their last 10 away games, while they also failed to win any of their games at the Copa America earlier this year.

A Uruguay win is my main tip for this fixture and a 1-0 win for the hosts is my correct score selection. Uruguay may have put four past a poor Bolivia side, but prior to that had only scored more than one goal once in nine games.

The hosts will be looking to extend their recent European success after winning Euro 2020 with a win today. The hosts have actually won four of their last seven matches and are on course for another. The hosts have scored an average of 1.72 goals while the visitors have scored an average of 1.36 goals.

Prediction:Italy to win.

The away team has always come on top when the two teams meet.In the last four matches between themselves, the hosts have won two matches, lost once with a single stalemate.

Prediction:Switzerland to win.
