Premier League

One Of The Hardest Records To Break In The Premier League That Will Last For Decades

English Premier League has some remarkable records which get to be made every year while others are broken. This is one of the things that makes the league exciting to watch and one of the most entertaining in Europe.

Some records kept by English clubs include most goals scored in a single season by Manchester City, the team that won the league with the most points, and going an entire season with losing a single away match by the Red Devils.

Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne also became the third player in English football to win PFA Player of the Year for two consecutive seasons. The other players include Cristiano Ronaldo and Thierry Henry.

Moreover, some incredible records have been standing for years and they may not be broken any time soon. There have been some incredible players who rose in different decades and left a great legacy behind.

However, former Newcastle and Blackburn Rovers striker Alan Shearer holds the record of the player with most English Premier League goals. The 51-year-old played for three Premier League teams and scored an unbelievable number of 260 goals in his entire.

Shearer played for Southampton, Blackburn Rovers, and Newcastle scoring 23, 112, and 158 goals respectively. No player has ever managed to reduce the gap even to a 50 goals gap.

The Premier League has seen some outstanding goal scorers like Thierry Henry, Sergio Aguero, Wayne Rooney, Harry Kane but none of them have managed to break this record. Manchester United great Wayne Rooney came close to breaking the record after he scored 208 goals.

Currently, the Premier League has good forwards like Mohamed Salah, Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane, but they are likely to end their careers without breaking the record. Aguero could have come close to this record but he left Manchester City and Pep Guardiola didn't play him much in the final seasons at Etihad.
