Arsenal have reached a deal with Benfica to sign left-back Nuno Tavares. The fee is estimated to be about €8m. The 21 year old Portuguese star has made 30 appearances for Benfica . He also featured for Benfica in the Europa League match between Arsenal and Benfica earlier this year.
Tavares will compete with Tierney for the left-back position. He will be a huge boost for Arsenal as they are looking to reinforce their defence following last season's poor performance. Tavares can also play in the right-back.
Arsenal are also reported to be on the verge of signing Belgian midfielder Albert Sambi-Lokonga from Anderlecht. Arsenal are in need of a Midfielder as both Ceballos and Odegaard ended their loan spells at Arsenal and returned to Real Madrid. Granit Xhaka is also a doubt that he will stay at Arsenal as there are reports suggesting that the Switzerland midfielder may leave Arsenal for Roma.
