Current EPL Table After Chelsea Won 3-1 And Manchester United Drew 1-1

Chelsea played their 7th Premier League game this season against Southampton at the Stanford Bridge where they got a 3-1 win.

Trevor Chalobah opened the scoring in the 9th minute after a corner by Ben Chilwell was directed on his way by Reuben Loftus Cheek.

Chelsea thought they have added into their lead in the first half after Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner both found the back of the net only for their goals to be ruled out by VAR.

Southampton's confidence improve in the second half and they were awarded a penalty in the 60th minute after Ben Chilwell's reckless challenge brought down Tino Livramento in the box. Southampton captain James Ward Prowse sent Eduardo Mendy the wrong way to equal things for Southampton.

However, James Ward Prowse was shown a straight red card in the 75th minute after his horrible challenge to Jorginho.

Timo Werner then put Chelsea in front in the 84th minute after a lovely ball by Ross Barkley found Cesar Azplicueta who set it up for Werner. The Blues then added another goal through Ben Chilwell to make it a 3-1 win.

Manchester United on the other side failed to win against Everton earlier today as they were held to a 1-1 draw.

Antony Martial put Manchester United in front in the first half before Andy Townsend equalized for Everton.
