Thw Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo was present and picked up the award personally after being named the player of the century 2001-2020. The ceremony was held at the Armani Hotel. This comes after missing out on the men's player of the year award for 2020 that went to Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.
Cristiano Ronaldo, 35 has won trophies in Spain, Italy, England and his national team, Portugal. He said that it is a pleasure to win titles and acknowledged that it is not easy to be top of the game for so many years. He went ahead to thank his teammates and coaches.
The 35 year old star took to twitter to say, "Couldn’t be happier with tonight’s award! As I’m about to celebrate my 20th year as a professional footballer, Globe Soccer Player Of The Century is a recognition that I receive with so much joy and pride!"
