Details Allege That Agnes Tirop Was Killed by Her Lover as Residents Stone a Car Following Her Death

Kenya has suffered a major loss after Agnes Tirop, a popular athlete who represented Kenya in the 5,000m women's race during Tokyo Olympics was found dead at her home in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.

Details says that Agnes' body had stab wounds on the abdomen and on the neck. The 2017 World bronze medalist Agnes Tirop died at the age of 25 years.

The athlete met her untimely death in unclear circumstances, however details claim that her ex-lover is suspected to be behind the killing.

Reports claim that Agnes Tirop were having domestic wrangles with her lover for a while. Details say that the quarrels had resulted to the fall out between Agnes and her lover and it is alleged that she had gone to pick some of her belongings when the wrangles escalated.

It is suspected that Agnes Tirop may have been murder by her ex lover after they were involved in a scuffle.

The death of Agnes Tirop has caused anger among the residents of Iten and reports says that they went ahead and stoned a car that is believed to belong to a friend of late Agnes' boyfriend.
