Ex-Manchester United coach Luis Van Gaal has warned Ajax head coach Erik Ten Hag from taking over Manchester United's coaching job. Van Gaal was fired as their head coach after a short period and now advises the Dutchman to reconsider the offer. After Manchester United experienced a shaky season, they are now seeking to hire a new coach to take over from the interim coach Ralf Rangnick from next season.
Van Gaal has fired back at his former club, saying it's a commercial club that does not cherish football more than business. According to him, there are other good clubs for Ten Hag than Manchester United. He added that it will be the wrong choice for the exceptional coach who has guided Ajax to a world-class club in Europe. Van Gaal wasn't given enough time to build his club as compared to the likes of Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola.
Ten Hag has been interviewed by Manchester United board officials and he is the main favorite to take over the job at the onset of next season. Other coaches who have been identified include PSG head coach Mauricio Pochettino, Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui, and Spain head coach Luis Enrique.
