Fulham Vs Birmingham City
Quickly becoming one of the most enjoyable sides to watch in Europe this season, Fulham will continue their pursuit of yet another Championship promotion, when they welcome Birmingham City on Tuesday evening. The hosts returned to the top of the table with a 6-2 thrashing over the weekend, whilst the visitors have spent much of the campaign languishing in the wrong half.
Trailing Bristol City 2-1 after half-an-hour, Marco Silva’s irresistible Fulham side flipped the game on its head before the break, netting four without reply to lead 5-2 at half-time. Adding a sixth after the interval, the emphatic victory was the second time in as many matches the London-based club had netted six or more goals in as many games.
Capitalising on fellow-title challengers Bournemouth’s surprise defeat to Luton Town, the Whites climbed to the summit of the Championship, with a third promotion in five years well within their sights. With just two defeats at Craven Cottage in the league this term, Fulham will be eyeing up another mauling when strugglers Birmingham visit the capital this week. Unlike their hosts, the Blues are six matches without a victory, despite a dramatic point away to Preston North End on Saturday
