Arsenal is interested in adding up a left back in the upcoming summer transfer window following Kieran Tierney injury woes and Tavares failure to impress on the left flank in Tierney's absence. Mikel Arteta's side has identified Bologna's left back Aaron Hickey as the perfect replacement for Tierney.
Hickey joined the Serie A side Bologna from Hearts in 2020 summer transfer window. The versatile defender can play both at the left or right flank just as his former teammate currently an Arsenal player, Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Hickey has featured 33 times in the League this season with five goals under his name and registering an assist. This is the kind of player Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants I'm the left flank so as to offer competition to Kieran Tierney who is currently ruled out until the end of the campaign with a knee injury.
Bologna's have set Hickey's asking price at around €20 million. The Bologna defender however has a contract that runs up until the summer of 2024.
