Liverpool who are in second position behind their rivals Manchester United have been having a difficulties in their backline since Van Dijk's injury.
A report from a trusted source said that there is a chance of Liverpool signing arsenals defender Sokratis papastathopolous but klopp is unsure whether to reinforce his backline considering that van dijk and Gomez are out amid injuries.
The 32 years old is also being linked with Genoa and Betis. He has not been furured in the half of this season like Mesut Ozil.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the experienced defender might be considered by klopp in the coming few days since they worked together at Borrusia Dortmund.
"He was offered to Liverpool too, you know that? Liverpool were looking for an opportunity and he was offered to Liverpool, but at the moment he’s not an option,” Romano explained.
Van dijk And Gomez are long term absentees while Joel matip is injury prone thereby meaning they lack senior central defender.
