Gor Mahia Tormentor in their 3-1 Loss to Sofapaka Last Season, Chinonso Plans to return to Nigeria

Former Sofapaka forward Promise Chinonso is considering going back to his motherland, Nigeria after failing to secure a new deal in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL).

The Nigerian striker signed for Sofapaka alias Batoto Ba Mungu in early 2020 from Nigerian club Lagos Atletico FC.

Chinonso is remembered for his electrifying start at Sofapaka as he scored a brace against Gor Mahia in a match that ended 3-1. However, his performance did not impress later on leading to his release.

The striker moved to Western Stima who have since been relagated to the Betika National Super League and rebranded to Kisumu United after losing their shirt sponsor.

Chinonso has made claims that Western Stima owes him and that he is unable to raise airfare so that he can rejoin Nigerian League; this is after his move to newly promoted FKFPL side FC Talanta failed to materialise despite training with them for a couple of days.
