Luka Modric turned 37 on September 9th, but he shows no signs of slowing down. Many have wondered what keeps the Croatian midfielder in top form, and some believe he has superhuman fitness.
The unavoidable question about the superhuman was raised during an interview with Diario AS, and the Croatian playmaker denied the claim, claiming that his fitness is primarily due to natural talent.
"They always want to know my secret, but I'm at a loss for words. It's entirely natural. I live and breathe football 24 hours a day. That, I believe, is critical.
I enjoy what I do and am having more fun than ever in my career because I know I am at a difficult age for a footballer. Maybe that's why I'm having so much fun, because you never know how long you'll last at this level and in this club, where the demands are at their highest. I make an effort to enjoy the training sessions and games. All of this contributes to being good at this age "Modric says.
Since joining Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012, the Croatian has won 21 trophies and is still hungry for more. The 2018 Ballon d'Or winner is the epitome of talent, as evidenced by his artistic passes and outrageous goals.
