Chelsea rose to greatness last season when they hired Thomas Tuchel to succeed Frank Lampard who did not manage to guide the club well. By then they had made good signings of Kai Harvertz, Hakim Ziyech, and Timo Werner. After Tuchel took over, his tactics worked well making him take the club to the champions league final.
He went ahead to beat their rivals Manchester City. This was their second ever champions league glory since 2012. Since then, the club has been one of the greatest clubs in Europe. After the champions league win, they also added another silver ware in the European Super Cup. They defeated Villarreal in penalty shoot out.
The club then added more strength as they signed Rumelu Lukaku. A main striker was their concern and thus they brought him on board. They have also started the season well as they sit on top of the league.
