Former Manchester City defender has retired from professional football at the age of 36.

In the recent years several prolific footballers have retired from professional football,due to their ages. That's the case for most of the Manchester City players who won the dramatic match,against Queen Park Rangers to clinch the league title.

The squad included Vincent Kompany,Samir Nasri, Sergio Aguero,Micah Richards and Bakary Sagna. The recent squad member to announce his retirement from football is 36 years old Serbian Aleksandar Kolarov. The left back signed for city in 2010 from Lazio and later moved to Roma and Inter Milan.

On announcing the decision,Kolarov said “today I say goodbye to football,I knew that sooner or later this day would come and regardless, I'm grateful to have successfully archived whatever I dreamt of.”

“Now am headed for a second life by the world of football,soon I will enroll according to qualifications,first as an observer and after that I will study as a football director at Pusat Coverciano.”
