Afraha Stadium Renovation Progress

Afraha Stadium in Nakuru town is currently one of the oldest stadiums in Kenya for it is more than 73 years old, it was constructed during the colonial period so there has been a need to upgrade it so that it could look like a modern stadium and meet the required FIFA standards.

The stadium was recently closed to give room for it's renovation, it is set to be an international stadium with the capability to host international matches, the renovation is currently in progress and it is set to cost around 650 million which will be funded by the county government of Nakuru.

The stadium sitting capacity will be increased from 8 200 fans to 14 300 fans which is almost double, the tracks and the pitch will be upgraded and installed with modern drainage system to avoid flooding of water as it used to be in the rainy season.
