Arsenal have been ruled out as favorites to sign Serge Gnabry this summer despite the German holding out a contract proposal from Bayern Munich. Gnabry clearly wants to return back to Arsenal but Arteta is unfortunately not willing to give him the invitation back to the club. Going by how the Spaniard manager has been conducting his transfer business business, there is clearly no way for Gnabry to fight in Arteta’s plans.
Gnabry is more effective as a right winger but Arteta’s tactical methods insists that right wingers in his squad should be left footed so that Odegaard can work better with them. Gnabry can also play as a false nine but unfortunately for him, there is no room for such a position at Arsenal since there is a number 10 who plays behind the number 9- the target man. There is simply no room for Gnabry at Arsenal.
West Ham United have for sometime been linked with a move for Villareal’s Arnaut Danjuma, even considered front runners, but will have to wait a little bit longer to find a breakthrough. Arteta’s led Arsenal are also monitoring the contractual situation if the winger since the Dutchman is considered an ideal replacement for Nicolas Pepe whose future at Arsenal is on the rocks. But as pointed out earlier, a deal for the 26 year old is going to pass through turbulent processes before it’s completed.
Danjuma fits perfectly in Arteta’s criteria for the perfect right winger. His age makes him an even more enticing target but that comes with a hefty price on his valuation fee. Villareal are still hesitant about releasing the winger since their chosen replacement is not cooperating with them with regard to settling on personal terms. As for Danjuma, he only wants to join a club where he will play a key role in the starting eleven, which neither Arsenal nor West Ham can offer.
