Finally,Kenyan athlete in 800 metres Collins Kibet won a bronze medal after coming second in the Belgrade indoors championship.The young Kibet looked set to miss out on the medals before his last sprint saw him emerge second.Kibet has become the first Kenyan to win a medal since the start of the elsewhere, Ferdinand Omanyala finished third in his heat and will wait for the third slot in order to qualify for the finals.
Omanyala maintained his 6.62 seconds record in the semi final.On the other hand, Italy's Marcel Jacobs and Christian qualified directly from their heats.Marvin Bracy qualified as the best sprinter with a personal record of 6.52 seconds in the 60 metres dash.Congratulations to Kibet for winning the first medal for the country.For more news updates tap on the follow link on the top right corner.
