For many Manchester United fans, Fred is the personification of the troubles the club is facing.
Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos, better known as Fred, is a Brazilian football midfielder for Manchester United and the Brazil national team. His presence at the club over the years has not sat well with fans and pundits alike. Many even question Ole Gunnar's credibility in playing the defensive midfielder.
For a long time now, Fred has been the weakest link in Manchester United's title race. All the problems have arisen from his incompetence. The clamour for Ole Gunnar's sacking hit a crescendo when he benched Pogba and Van de Beek during the Everton clash. The game ended in a frustrating draw.
One of the talking points in the game was how Fred was outmuscled by Everton's Demarai Gray. Let's talk about everything wrong with Fred;
- Not finding space to give his teammates passing options.
- Standing still and not making space for runs when attacking
- Poor passes-this was evident during United's visit to Southampton where he tried to pass the ball to Wan-Bissaka but missed terribly.
