Nottingham Forest is interested in signing Manchester United midfielder

According to the Daily Mail, newly promoted Premier League side Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder James Garner.

In the 2021-22 season, Nottingham Forest finished fourth in the Championship, qualifying for the playoffs.

They then stepped up, defeating Sheffield United and Huddersfield Town to gain promotion to the English Premier League.

Garner, who was on loan at Nottingham in the 2021-22 season, played in all three Championship play-off fixtures, helping them back to the Premier League after 23 long years.

According to recent reports, Nottingham Forest is attempting to re-sign Garner. In the 2021–22 season, the midfielder, who progressed through United's youth academy, played 49 games for Nottingham, scoring four goals and dishing out 10 assists.

On Sunday, August 7, he was not a part of Manchester United's Premier League debut against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Both Fred and Scott McTominay, who Erik ten Hag used as holding midfielders, failed to make an impact as United lost 2-1 at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag might be influenced to try Garner out soon if the pair's difficulties persist.
