
Former Harambee stars striker Dennis Oliech has admitted to suffering from depression during his career.
Oliech says this was mainly due to the financial demands of his family and friends back at home, who did not care how he was fairing on but only wanted him to bail them out.
In his part Oliech tried to empower his family by opening businesses for them, notably Mama Oliech fish joints and linking his friends with opportunities.
Other's failed and it's normal, you win some you lose some.
Most famous are various prime pieces of land he acquired and houses which he sells when things get thick for him.
In my opinion, lack of solid personal finance manager to manage his properties and business affected him.
However, this is an area Kenyan footballers struggle with but are not courageous enough to open up.
Kenyan footballers also never allow professionals to manage them off the pitch which is very crucial for those that land life changing deals abroad.
