Is Jose Mourinho headed back to the Premier League?

After surviving relegation and securing a decent premier league spot after the takeover, Newcastle football club aim to challenge the top teams and secure European Football in the coming season. This will require a manager with the ability to handle the big teams and more signings that the club could make.

Despite Eddie Howe’s time at the club been great success, the club is looking for a better manager who will take the club to the next level. As per multiplw reports, Jose Mourinho the Roma manager is on the radar of Newcastle once again. After making it clear to the club that he was committed to his job at Roma immediately after the takeover, Newcastle are once again going to try and lure the legendary manager to St James Park this summer.

Eddie Howe’s two and a half contract with Newcastle is expected to see him stay at the club until 2024. His managerial record is not the best in the premier league. He was in charge of Bournemouth in the 2019/20 season when they got relegated on the final day after five years in the premier league. This could be a key factor to face him out if the club was able yo attract another manager.

Jose Mourinho is not desperate to go back to the premier league. He is enjoying his time at Roma as he builds the squad there. He has two years remaining in his contract with Roma and he describes the situation as very calm. However, if Newcastle could outline a proper plan that would see the team manage to challenge the top teams, Jose Mourinho would take the job.
