Argentina's Lionel Messi has waited for over 15 years to finally win and lift an international trophy.Ever since he started playing football,he has always made it clear that winning a trophy with his country is his dream and he would do anything to achieve it.His journey with the team has been one full of pain and tears especially after losing in four finals. In 2007,2015 and 2016 he lost in the Copa America finals and in 2014 he lost the world cup final against Germany. This year the gods of football were on his side as they beat Brazil by one goal to zero to win the trophy.Angel Di Maria was man to rescue after his beautiful strike won it for Argentina.Messi finishes the tournament with 4 goals and 5 assists. He also won the golden boot and best player of the tournament ahead of Brazil's Neymar. The wait might have been the longest but it was definitely worth it for Messi. His focus now shifts to the 2022 world cup where he will be determined to also win it.
