Chelsea were locking horns yesterday against Tottenham in the second leg of the Carabao semifinal. The Blues had won 2-0 in the first leg and they were looking forward to win that match so that they can make it to the final.
In that match, Chelsea got an early goal in the 18th minute where Antonio Rudiger scored a great header to add an advantage to his side. That goal meant that Tottenham had to score atleast three goals for them to retain their hopes of playing in the final.
They tried all they can to pull one back but the Blues defence was too solid for them to break. Harry Kane had scored in the 64th minute but it was ruled as offside by the VAR. The Blues ended up winning 1-0 and 3-0 on aggregate to make it to the final.
In that match, one of the Blues stars who was impressive is Sarr. The Frenchman was so good at their defence where he gave Harry Kane and Lucas Moura a tough time to score.
Harry Kane is considered as one of the best finishers in the world. Last season, he won the golden boots and playermaker award. Yesterday, he tried all he can to take his time to the finals but Malang Sarr couldn't give him a chance.
Sarr is only 23 years of age and his top performance yesterday shows how good he can be when given more playing time.
Tuchel has been leaving him on the bench this season and gave other players more playing time. Yesterday, Sarr was given a chance and he performed so well and played a major role to help his side make it to the final of Carabao
This now means that, Malang Sarr top performance in yesterday's match proved Tuchel wrong for benching him in the recent matches.
