Ten Hag's Plan To Inject New Blood Into His Attack Leaked, It's Connected To A Portuguese Sensation

Following reports that Cristiano Ronaldo was interested in leaving Manchester United last summer, a number of top strikers were linked with a move to the club. Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix was one of these strikers. There was speculation that United had even bid for Felix, but they were told he was not for sale.

According to Sport Witness, citing Fichajes, Felix's lack of playing time under Diego Simeone may force him to leave in the winter transfer window. Sport Witness names Manchester United as the most likely destination for Felix, claiming that if Ronaldo leaves, Felix could be the man United looks for to bolster their attack.

"They explain Erik ten Hag’s side need ‘new blood’ in their squad, and Félix could be an option if Cristiano Ronaldo ‘really ends up leaving next January’, with it being a transfer the club could pull off ‘without any problem’," write Sport Witness.

The 22-year-old managed 8 goals and 4 assists in 24 La Liga games last season. His stats may not be headline-worthy, but if Ten Hag sees him as an option for his attack, he may have one or two tricks to turn him into the superstar Atletico Madrid hoped for when they paid at least £120 million to Benfica for his services.
