Football fanatics ares still finding it hard to come to terms with the news that Andy Goram is dead after a brave battle with cancer.
The footballer had been diagnosed with stage four oesophagal cancer when he had gone Monklands Hospital for a scan and was given an option for chemotherapy that would see his life extended by 12 weeks but he turned down the offer.
He was a longtime goalkeeper of Rangers and helped the club win five Scottish Premier League titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups. The club's management passed their condolences in an emotional message. "The thoughts of the directors, management, players and staff are today with Andy's family, and would ask that their privacy is respected at this sad time. Funeral details will be communicated in due course," the club wrote.
He is also remembered for joining Man United on loan from 2000-2001 and won the Premier League title. He retired from football in 2004 and joined cricket full-time.
May his soul rest in peace. Thank you for reading my article. Feel free to leave your comment below.
