Premier League

Final EPL table after Chelsea won 7-0 and Arsenal won 3-1

Chelsea vs Norwich

On Saturday afternoon, Chelsea hosted Norwich City at Stamford Bridge in a highly anticipated Premier League match.

The Blues were missing Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner and needed a huge performance to beat a Norwich team looking for their first league victory of the season.

The Londoners came out firing in the first half, and it didn't take long for them to take the lead, with Mason Mount scoring with less than eight minutes remaining. Few minutes later, Hudson Odoi extended Chelsea's lead, while right back Reece James ensured the first half ended with the home team leading 3-0.

In the second half, the blues extended their lead with a goal from Ben Chilwell in the 62nd minute, before an own goal from Max Aarons and a late double from Mason Mount saw the game end in a convincing 7-0 win for the blues, who tightened their grip on first place in the table.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa

Arsenal welcomed Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Friday evening in the English Premier League's first encounter of match week 9. The Gunners got out to a fast start, and it didn't take long for Mikel Arteta's side to take the lead when Thomas Partey headed in his first goal for the London club.

After Alexandre Lacazette drew a penalty from Matt Targett, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang extended Arsenal's lead just before halftime.

After Smith Rowe latched on to a through cross from Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in the 56th minute, the Gunners doubled their lead early in the second half. Aston Villa equalized in the 82nd minute through Jacob Ramsey, but it was too little, too late as the hosts cruised to a 3-1 victory.

Here's how the EPL table currently looks like

Chelsea maintain their lead at the top of the standings, while Arsenal, their London rivals, drop to ninth place on the table.
