Real Madrid and Barcelona Are Battling It Out to Sign a Manchester United Attacker This January

Real Madrid and Barcelona, according to recent rumors, are both interested in signing Manchester United attacker Edinson Cavani once the January transfer market opens.

According to a recent rumor by El Nacional, the South American might have to leave Old Trafford this winter.

Cavani, which is 34, joined Manchester United on a free transfer on deadline day last summer after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired earlier that year.

Since his arrival in Manchester, the 34-year-old has appeared in 43 games across all competitions, assisting on 23 goals.

Cavani's playing chances have been reduced as a result of his advanced age and the re-signing of Cristiano Ronaldo.

El Nacional reports that the Uruguay international is unhappy with his current boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and that he would welcome a January transfer.

A short-term loan until the striker's contract expires next summer, according to reports, could be on the cards.

Real Madrid and Barcelona, led by Ronald Koeman, are both said to be interested.
