Kenyan Defender Red Carded In A 6 Goals Thriller Champions League Match

Here in Africa, the CAF Champions League 2021/22 season has been on for the last few weeks and the performances at the group stage have started taking a good shape.Over the weekend, the league's matchday five matches were scheduled on Friday and Saturday. In this article we will base our argument in the match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Hilal Omdurman which was played on Saturday evening.

Mamelodi Sundowns secured a massive 4-2 win over Al Hilal in the group stage match.Sundowns opened the scoring in the second minute through Peter Shalulile before Teboho Mokoena added a second in the 30th minute.YM Mohammed responded for Al Hilal in the 56th minute before Thapelo's brace in the 60th and 89th minutes which made it four for Sundowns.Elnour Eltayub made it two for Al Hilal in the additional minutes.

In this match, Kenya international Brian Mandela Onyango who is a top Sundowns defender received a red card in the eleventh minute. The red card means that Onyango will miss Sundowns last match of the group stage as well as their round of 16 first leg match.

Sundowns are currently on top of their group with 13 points followed from a distance by the defending Champions League champions Al Ahly who have 7 points.Al Hilal and Al Merrikh come in third and fourth respectively with 4 points each.

Do you think in Onyango's absence Mamelodi Sundowns will still shine their way up to the title win? Feel free to share your views on the comment section and remember to share and follow for more news.
