According to the Mirror Football, it has been exclusively revealed that there will be a major clearout under the 52-year-old Ten Hag with up to as many as 12 players set to leave Old Trafford in the summer. The Dutchman who is current Ajax Manager, is set to be named the Red Devils' new manager after the players were told of his imminent appointment in the wake of their humbling 4-0 defeat by Liverpool on Tuesday night at Anfield.
Among the players set to be released in summer are Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Lee Grant. They are all set to leave as free agents while at least six other players including Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Alex Telles, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford as revealed could also join them. This will be to allow Erik Ten Hag to begin his overhaul, squad rebuild with Ralf Rangnick suggesting there will be as many as ten new signings during the summer.

To the delight of many fans, one player that will likely get a reprieve is Donny Van de Beek who is currently on loan at Everton until the end of the season. Donny used to play very well at Ajax under Erik ten Hag's management before joining Manchester United. However, the midfielder has barely featured for United following his move from Ajax almost two years ago. Erik Ten Hag, who brought the best out of him during his time at the Amsterdam Arena, still believes that Van De Beek can play a pivotal role for United moving forward. This therefore proves that Donny is among the key players in Erik ten Hag's plan for next season. Hopefully Van De Beek will showcase his best next season.
