Kenyan international defender, Joash Onyango who plays for Simba Sports Club in Tanzania was named man of the match in their yesterday's encounter against Young Africans in the Mapinduzi Cup finals.
However, Simba SC lost to Yanga in the penalty shoot out after the match ended as a goalless draw. Young Africans were crowned as the Mapinduzi cup champions.
Joash Onyango impressed in the match and was given a million Tanzanian shillings which translates to approximately fifty thousand Kenyan shillings. The Kenyan who is former Gor Mahia player nicknamed 'Berlin Wall' is praised for his excellent defending skills.
Previously, Kenyan midfielder Francis Kahata had impressed in Simba SC's match against Mtibwa Sugar. A match that Simba won 2-0 to proceed to the next round of the competition. He was rewarded with 200 K Tanzanian shillings.
Kenyans playing overseas are really representing the country well. Elsewhere, Johanna Omolo former Cercle Brugge player has joined Turkish side, Erzurumspor.
