Why Gor Mahia was Knocked out of CAF Confederation cup

'Husband of teams' was knocked out of the CAF confederation cup in a dramatic fashion after Emanuel Mayuka converted a penalty in stoppage time to secure a 3-2 aggregate victory for NAPSA stars in Lusaka Zambia.

The opening leg of the competition ended 1-0 in favor of NAPSA stars and Gor Mahia had done well to put themselves in qualifying position by holding out a 2-1 advantage into added time. Unfortunately for Gor, a reckless challenge by Charles Momanyi undid the effort as Kogalo conceded a late penalty and this gave Mayuka a golden chance to send debutant NAPSA to the lucrative group stages. Of the continent's 2nd-tier club's competition.

It was nonetheless a spirited effort from the Kenyan champions whose trip for return leg was mired by a embarrassing travel challenges. The visitors arrived in less than three hours to kick-off after a long travel.

Samuel Onyango and Clifford Miheso scored to put Gor Mahia in a 2-1 lead. And it appeared that Kenyans would sail through on away goal only to concede a late penalty.
