From grass to grace. How has the life of Winnie Kamau changed after her photograph breastfeeding her baby at halftime went viral?
Balancing motherhood and career is one of the most difficult tasks among women. The 23 year old soccer player took her time to attend to the needs of her one year old daughter at halftime taking part in Njambini women's match against Karangatha on 8th March.
Well wishers came to Winnie Kamau's aid. The team's coach, Wanjiri stated that the team has now opened a bank account alongside Winnie where money from well wishers is deposited. With time, the team is expected to make progress not only in team development but also in recruiting new female players.
Winnie Kamau who used to sell airtime to put food on the table now has a reason to smile. She is passionate and aims to develop her football skills to play for the Kenya Women national team.
