Cup competitions are underway for the third day running. Upsets has been a norm for mid table teams with just a small number progressing further.
Here are a number of fixtures that you can bank on.
The home team are in a form of their lives. Due to the fierce competition in the Liga Portugal, an opportunity for winning a domestic cup is here. The quarter finals berth with Vitoria Guimaraes will be a chance of them progressing further.
The away team have drawn four and lost one of her last five fixtures. Lacking that winning touch will probably not play in the away teams favor tonight.
Prediction: Braga wins
Match 2: Heerenveen vs FC Volendam
The home team has won majority of their head to head encounters competitively and today's cup match is no exception.
Heerenveen has a good home record against average opponents whilst FC Volendam have a terrible away record in their past fixtures.
This will play in the home team's favor as they forge ahead to the quarter finals of the KNVB Beker.
Prediction: Heerenveen wins
Match 3: Nice vs Montpellier
Both teams lost their Coupe de France as well as their Ligue 1 fixtures.
The home team are scoring very few goals but have managed to have a solid defensive display that has kept them in mid table.
The away team has a poor defensive unit that has conceded at least in every fixture.
If this is not addressed by proper signings in this transfer window, the same trend seems to continue.
Match 4: Southampton vs Manchester City
The home team are at risk of relegation and playing the Premier League champions makes it a little hard.
After winning against Crystal Palace in the FA cup last weekend, player's morale are boosted to face any side and at least loose with dignity.
Manchester City have a tough weekend fixture and will rest majority of her players. The expansive very talented squad in their disposal automatically will carry the day.
Prediction: Manchester City wins
