AFC Leopards are working on 3 marquee signings but have one nagging setback holding them back.

On September 26th, AFC Leopards will kick off their 2021-22 FKFPL campaign against defending champions Tusker.

The AFC Leopards have been drained of quality with the departures of Elvis Rupia, Austin Odhiambo, Robinson Kamura, Shaka Bienvenue, Hansel Ochieng, Tsuma Said, Fabrice Mugheni, Benjamin Ochan, and others.

With the departures of these players depleting the quality in their squad, AFC Leopards have not been left behind and, like other FKFPL clubs, according to multiple reports, AFC have also thrown themselves into the transfer market, with Bonphas Munyasa of APS Bomet, Michael Wanjala of Tusker, and Cornelius Juma being targeted as marquee signings, though if signed, the three will have to wait for AFC Leopards to get their FIFA ban lifted.

As for the plans for the upcoming season, AFC Leopards' assistant coach Tom Juma had this to say when quizzed by Citizen Digital, "There are teams that you will never hear them say, let’s now play this season to finish fourth or just be in the mid-table position. AFC (Leopards) and Gor Mahia's target will forever remain the same, year in and year out, to win silverware. Have you ever heard our rivals Gor Mahia declare at the start of the season, "Let us just settle for a mid-table slot?"Is this season going to be the season, AFC Leopards show their true colors?
