Chelsea are desperate for fresh players, and a number of high-profile names have been linked with a move to West London. Tuchel's interest in signing Sevilla defender Jules Kounde has not dwindled. Last summer, Chelsea came close to signing him, but Sevilla raised the asking price at the last minute.
The last minute failure of his deal infuriated the French defender, who had his sights set on Stamford Bridge. Sevilla, on the other hand, will not stand in his way this time, and club director Jose Maria Cruz has revealed that Kounde is considering leaving the club.
"The player, I am sure, respects Sevilla FC," Jose Cruz said. He is contented with us. It is not a matter of money in the case of Koundé. He wants to play for a team that is more competitive than Sevilla FC. I am confident he is a player of interest to Chelsea, FC Barcelona, and Bayern Munich."
Sevilla's chief also explained to a sports witness how the deal fell through at the last minute. "We received offers for Jules Kounde in the previous two seasons, but we turned them down because we believed he could improve his performance." It was better to wait because the market was down at the time. We reasoned that if we waited a while, we'd be able to get additional money " said Sevila Chief.
